I upload some of my sketches on Flickr. One of its most attractive features is the map: you can geotag your photos –in general, all your material– to show where they are taken. Unfortunately this map can not be easily embedded on websites, thereby I have been maintaining my own urban sketches map in Google Maps for the same purpose.
Each blue flag on the map represents a different sketch. When a flag is selected, a thumbnail of the sketch and a link to the blog entry are shown. There is also a zoom in option, so it can be explored the area where the building, landscape or urban element is located. And even the street view can be used when the link view larger map is followed!
How interesting, Nuno!…thank you for sharing this information.
Have a great evening!
Hugs, xx
You’re welcome, Deb.
Have a great evening, too!
What a great idea, Nuno.
Thanks. Really the Flickr map should be enough but it seems they aren’t interested on sharing their resources with others.
Ohhh this is AWESOME, Nuno!!!!
I think it’s really cool you pick a different place every time.
Can’t wait to see a drawing of a French city!!! (= request) lol
Thanks for sharing.
When I have been in France unfortunately I didn’t take any photo. And it is pity because once I was in a small village, really beautiful, I don’t remember the name. It is close to Aix-en-Provence. Each house has (or had) a different color (pastel colors, light colors) and all the streets have lots of trees. A wonderful place.
Anyway, Flickr is a great site
Thank you, Cha.
Cool, I have been wanting to do this, but for some reason or the other I never do (laziness being my number one and only reason actually!). Do you have one of those cameras with a built-in GPS? That would be ideal for something like this…
Yes, I have a Lumix with GPS but sometimes I don’t have it enabled. In my case, as it is a drawing each three or four days, it is not a problem. But geotagging many photos can be a pain…
Thanks!
