Today I was working in the field behind the grass. Basically I had to use dark colors in the base and light colors, almost white, on top. As usual I am not very happy with the result. It differs from the last day but probably I will modify the area close to the trees.
I was also painting the path and adding some contrast to the grass with the fan brush. Surely you all do not believe it but I like it! The path perspective seems a little weird but usually the paths are not perfectly defined.
Finally I was adding some branches to the trees. I had only painted the branches to the right of the trees. I followed the same technique: a thin synthetic brush and browns with a bit of medium.
I must keep working on the trees area. I have to add the leaves and to make darker the background. Also it is pending the water and its reflections and the house.

looking great! I love the path!
Thank you!
I think you are doing a great job on this…mine right?…lol
I like the branch you have added to the right, and the path looks great.
Just a suggestion. If you would paint just a few, maybe just one or two, very small trees in the fron part of the field…about where the darker bush line separtate it from the grass, it would give the field more depth looking as though it goes farther back. And as a result, it would make the mountain look farther back too….think in plains.
Overall, Nuno, this is an awesome painting and each time I feast my eyes on it, it gets better and better!
Hugs, xx
lol! And thank you for the suggestion. I’ll speak with my teacher, as you know, the goal is to copy an original painting, I shouldn’t change the scene.
Thank you, Deb.
Oh yes, I fortgot about that detail…lol
Hugs, xx
This time I must follow the score but I could try some improvisation… lol
Nuno, what a changes; beautiful. Parts I especially like are (the light shadow on) the road and the way the grass has come to life. Thanks for sharing this proces.
Really I didn’t have to work in the grass area but I started to add a stroke here and there… I like the result, too.
Thanks!
The field and grass looks great. Looks so different from day 6.You have done a fantastic job with the textures of the grass.
The whole painting is coming together wonderfully and I really love seeing how you progress at each stage. Thanks
Thank you very much, Kellie. I think it can be interesting (at least for me in the future) to show the whole process and the mistakes and how to fix them.
It is look super good! I am curious about how you are going to continue the house
Me too, lol! I must talk to my teacher. As the house is in the background I guess it will not suffer important changes.
Thank you!
This is becoming a real beauty! Like the other comments, I love how you put life to the grass. I’m a bit distracted by the branches though, looks like wiggly arms to me. LOL don’t mind me. Haha.
Yes, you are right. It seems the trees are dancing a strange tribal dance. I’ll fix it the next day with my super magical fan brush!
LOL! Make them stop from dancing by using your “magical fan brush”!! Haha. I’d love to see how it will turn out!
I think it looks amazing!!!
You should be happy with the result, Nuno!
Yes, it needed 14 hours but I’m starting to be happy, lol
Thank you.
